LUCIE - City Manager Don Cooper is recommending the city council lower its property tax rate this fall by 25 cents per $1,000 of taxable property value, meaning the owner of a $150,000 home with homestead exemption would pay $31.25 less in taxes next year, assuming the home's value didn't change.
