Finance dept may push hike in income tax on self-employed
THE DEPARTMENT of Finance will consider pushing for an increase in income tax on self-employed individuals to a uniform rate of 35 percent, as it moves on to the second phase of the reform agenda for easing the government's budget deficit and debt problems, a department official said.
