Clock Is Ticking for NY Tax Rebates
New York homeowners have about two months left to apply for state tax rebates. The deadline to apply for the income-based 2007 Middle Class School Tax Relief Program rebates is Nov. 30.
Greenfield assessors say tax rate will increase 49 - 69 cents per $1,000 valuation this year
GREENFIELD - The Board of Assessors estimates that Greenfield tax rate will climb by at least 49 cents - and perhaps as much as 69 cents - in this fiscal year.
Local merchants unfazed by N.Y.C.'s sales tax cut
New Jersey is about to lose some of its sales tax advantage over New York City. New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer is expected to sign into law a bill, passed last week, that would reduce the sales tax charged by New York City on clothes and shoes priced at more than $110 by 4 percentage points.
