Phone excise tax relief sought for Florida, other states
Long-distance phone customers in seven states, including Florida, and the District of Columbia on Wednesday petitioned the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to halt the Internal Revenue Service from collecting an excise tax that has been ruled illegal in several U.S. jurisdictions.
