McHenry County to commit new sales tax to roadwork
Two McHenry County Board committees agree that a new quarter-percent sales tax should be spent exclusively on improving the county’s congested traffic grid.

A new tax on cars with large engine displacements took effect this month, but the negative impact on sales will be small, experts said.
