Oneida County Legislature Approves Gas Tax Cap; Lowers Sales Tax Rate
The Oneida County Legislature approved two important items today that should save county residents and those traveling in the county some cash: First, the county legislature agreed to capping the county’s share of the gas tax. Second, the county legislature agreed to dropping the county’s sales tax rate half of a percent.
MarketCenter opening will bring tax boost to San Jose, RDA
The March opening of the San Jose MarketCenter, 362,000 square feet of big-box retail stores and small boutiques sandwiched between downtown San Jose and the historic Rose Garden neighborhood, is expected to generate at least $1 million in annual property tax revenue for the cash-strapped San Jose Redevelopment Agency, according to RDA Executive Director Harry Mavrogenes.
