Menino lobbies anew for telecom tax break repeal
Mayor Thomas M. Menino yesterday renewed his plea to repeal century-old utility tax breaks that encouraged initial construction of the state’s communications network. The move would add about $4.4 billion in taxable property to local rolls and reduce homeowners’ tax burden, Menino said in a letter delivered to the State House.
