Facing budget shortfall, Rendell won’t rule out tax hike
HARRISBURG - Faced with steady revenue declines and a projected budget shortfall of more than $1 billion, Gov. Rendell said yesterday that he would seek to avoid any broad-based tax increase next year but could not rule it out.
