Your guide to sales tax holiday in Carolinas

This weekend, back-to-school shoppers and regular citizens alike can shop tax-free in North Carolina and South Carolina. The annual sales tax holiday is 12:01 a.m. Friday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday. In North Carolina, this means that the 6.75 percent sales tax (7.25 percent in Mecklenburg County) is lifted. In South Carolina, the 6 percent sales tax (7 percent in York and Lancaster) temporarily
