TALLAHASSEE – A South Florida mayor is asking the state Supreme Court to invalidate the property tax reform plan passed by the Legislature last month. Lawyers for Weston Mayor Eric Hersh allege in the suit filed today that the tax freeze and cap improperly restricts local governments’ taxing power and that a constitutional amendment headed to voters in January contains misleading information.
