Philippines tax verdict buoys budget outlook
Finance Secretary Margarito Teves said Wednesday that the Philippines would balance its budget by the end of 2008, two years ahead of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s plan, after the Supreme Court cleared the way for a broader value-added tax.
