Franklin, Jones oppose tax plan
The opposition to House Speaker Glenn Richardson's property tax reform plan picked up two high-profile recruits Jan. 9 when Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and DeKalb County CEO Vernon Jones spoke out against the proposal.

WELLINGTON -(Dow Jones)- New Zealand Finance Minister Bill English Thursday rejected advice the government should cut the top personal income tax rate to 30% from 39% over time, and said there's no room to maneuver as the government books will be in the red.
